A small semi-automatic pistol called the Mossberg MC1SC was released in 2019. It is the company's first pistol product since the Mossberg Brownie was released a hundred years ago. It is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and is rated for +P pressure. The MC1SC is a polymer-framed, single-stack, locked-breech, recoil-operated, striker-fired handgun with a built-in blade safety on the trigger. Its basic three-dot sights can be adjusted, and night sights are also available. The trigger pull is 6 pounds. DLC (diamond-like carbon) slide and barrel finishes that minimize friction wear are standard on all MC1sc pistols. There are several MC1SC variants available, some of which feature cross-bolt safety. Optionally upgraded versions come with Viridian lasers positioned in front of the trigger guard or Truglo tritium night sights. A special Centennial edition is available with 24-karat gold accents and Cerakote and titanium nitride finishes on some parts. Single-stack magazines with capacities of 6 and 7 rounds are made of polymer and have an orange bottom plate. Also, the MC1SC can use the Glock 43 magazines. The magazine release is reversible.
