It is optic ready but you will need to buy the optic plate for your chosen red dot separately. Good experience, gun shipped and delivered in 4 days. If you get additional mags make sure to stay away from ProMag and stick to the MecGar or factory mags. I got 3 mags from GregCoteLLC with the +2 baseplates and have run around 300 rounds through each with no issues.
