By redesigning internal slide components, Shadow Systems was able to relocate portions of the operating system to allow strong, deep screw placement; extremely low placement for true co-witness with iron sights; and, most importantly, direct mounting of several red dots WITHOUT adapter plates. The Shadow Systems DR920 frameThe War Poet Full-size is built around the Shadow Systems® DR920 Frame, which features interchangeable backstraps to allow the shooter to adjust the grip angle to fit their natural point of aim. The extended beavertail and aggressive trigger guard undercut provide unmatched recoil control, allowing quick, accurate follow-up shots. The frame’s wrap-around grip texture is aggressive enough to keep the gun firmly in the shooter’s grip without being uncomfortable for daily wear. The BarrelFor the War Poet, WPS chose a 416R stainless barrel with conventional rifling—meaning it's compatible with lead bullets. Stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant, so it'll last far longer when exposed to sweat or humidity. The barrel is fluted to reduce overall weight, and comes threaded to accept a suppressor or muzzle brake. This model features a black nitride finish. The TriggerFor the trigger, Warrior Poet chose a flat-faced polymer trigger that breaks clean after a 4.5-5 lb. trigger pull, and resets very quickly and audibly. You can hear and FEEL the reset, which makes follow-up shots more accurate. The end result is a highly customized lightweight Pistol that excels in every role.
