The Kimber Aegis is a line of M1911 handguns available in both .45 ACP and 9mm Luger calibers. The Aegis is proportioned similarly to other Kimber 1911s, so there is the Custom as the full-sized model, the Pro as the compact model, and the Ultra as the sub-compact model. Aluminum frames, a flat-top black steel slide, fluted rosewood grips (or red trace laser grips), and tritium night sights are all features of the Aegis. These handguns have distinctive slide serrations in the X-form. The Aegis has several characteristics that are intended to improve concealed carry. The weight of the gun is decreased by employing the aluminum frame. The pistol's width is modestly reduced by the slender grips and rounded butt. The hammer lacks a spur, and the thumb safety and magazine release have a slimmer shape to prevent snagging. The gun's edges are also rounded off. Some versions come with fiber optic front sights, while the OI varieties come with a Vortex Venom red dot sight. The red dot allows for quicker targeting and increases the gun's effectiveness.
