This is a single-action, high-quality performance firearm that uses a .45 AUTO caliber and has a capacity of 8+1 rounds. The gun possesses an ambidextrous thumb and beavertail grip safety. The grip is very nicely textured and made of wooden laminate material. There is a stainless-steel 5-inch barrel inside the slide, with a recessed crown and an observation port at the chamber, to be used as a loaded-chamber indicator. The slide has fish-scale serrations. The trigger is clean and crisp but a bit heavy. The frame and mainspring housing are radiused in with a ’round-butt’ shape, which makes the gun easier to carry concealed. The 1911 E Series features a standard feed ramp and a one-piece full-length guide rod inside of a full-power spring. The white dot sights are regulated perfectly. The E-Series has a beavertail grip safety, with an extended bump for easier deactivation. Overall, this is a traditional, precise, and old-school-looking firearm.
