The Beretta 1301 Competition is made for shooting competitions. The shotgun uses a conventional bead sight system and has a longer barrel, allowing for farther shots at targets. The Kick-Off Plus system in the 1301 Comp Pro's new polymeric stock, which consists of two elastomer dampeners complete with return springs and placed close to the rubber insert, significantly reduces the initial recoil peak and the perceived recoil by up to 40%. The third rubber dampener in the stock bolt reduces the second recoil peak, muzzle jump, and any vibrations brought on by slide movement by absorbing the force of the slide hitting the stock. The stock is divided into two parts by the B-Steady system: the butt and forearm. The forearm is free to travel backward while the recoil absorption point is in an advanced position, keeping the butt steady and preventing any uncomfortable comb-on-cheek rubbing. Never losing the line of fire, the cheek stays steady and lays flawlessly.
