It is an ambidextrous thumb safety that is pinned to the slide right below the sight rather than the frame as a M1911 might. When in fire mode, the safety displays a red dot on each side. The firearm is equipped with a smooth open-cut lightning slide that exposes the barrel from just behind the front sight to the breech face/back of the reduced ejection hole. Although there are none in the front, the slide features a lot of tightly packed diagonal cocking serrations in the back. The beveling on the snout is curved and stretches out from front to back.
