Model 70 is a descendant of the Model 54, which was Winchester’s first successful bolt-action rifle. No other bolt-action rifle in history has been able to thrill committed marksmen with the same passion and loyalty as the Model 70. It has served as the standard by which all other bolt-action rifles are measured since 1936. Every Winchester Model 70 comes with a total performance warranty of 75 years. The M.O.A. Trigger System, improved fit and finish, and increased accuracy have all been added to the modern Model 70, which nevertheless features the traditional regulated round feeding from before 1964. Everything is there: Safety in three positions and firm, secure handling. The Model 70 is able to deliver the extreme accuracy benchmark 1" group at 100 yards because of the M.O.A. Trigger. The innovative M.O.A. Trigger System on the Model 70 is the most accurate three-lever trigger system ever created. The trigger mechanism has been fully reworked to display zero take-ups, zero creep, and zero overtravel. The renowned 3-position safety is still there on the Model 70 and is simple to use by pushing the firing pin away from the sear with the thumb of your firing hand. You have complete control when ejecting a discharged case using a blade-type ejector. The empty case won't fly off if you slowly pull the bolt back. The traditional Controlled Round Feed (CRF) bolt design is the main reason why the Model 70 is regarded as the "Bolt-Action Rifle of the Century." Similar to a washer on a bolt, the recoil lug is typically fitted between the barrel and the action of rifles. Every barrel on a today's Model 70 is button rifled, which ensures improved accuracy and sturdiness. There are 12 different Model 70 version available now, from a Sporter to the big-bore Safari Express. The rifles come in roughly two dozen chamberings.
