The Vepr 12 is produced by the "Molot" factory and incorporates a bolt hold-open device which holds the bolt open when the magazine is exhausted. It is fitted with a modified AK-style safety that has an additional lever that permits faster "safety on" operation. The safety lever is also duplicated on the left side of the receiver. Stocks are welded into place per import regulations.
