Description

This MicroPrism is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics built the reputation for innovation, reliability and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.
The SLx 3x MicroPrism is an all-new advanced optical system that combines the compact, lightweight size of a microdot with the durability and precision of a 3x magnified optic. The SLx 3x MicroPrism offers 13 illumination settings with AutoLive® motion-sensing on/off technology and multiple night vision compatibility options.
Weighing under 8oz, the SLx 3x MicroPrism is smaller and lighter than many red dot sights, though its crystal-clear glass and 3x magnification offer improved precision at distance. Even in close-quarters, the optic’s wide field-of-view and forgiving eye relief make it easy to snap on target.
Because the SLx 3x MicroPrism uses an etched reticle with adjustable diopter, the user will always have a clear, crisp reticle image, even if they have severe astigmatism. When set to max illumination, the MicroPrism reticle is fully daylight bright. For low-light, this optic offers 3 different NV-compatible settings, accommodating any ambient light level. Paired with the AutoLive® motion-sensing illumination technology, this optic provides an exceptionally long runtime at any brightness setting.
This package also includes the new ruggedized mounting system with industry standard mini-prism footprint, guaranteeing reliability and zero retention through heavy use and adverse conditions. Out of the box, this mount can be set for 8 different mounting heights and configurations, ensuring compatibility with any rifle system.

I have a SLX 1X 9mm version and it sucks. The reticle is so small, and I mean tiny, it's completely worthless. You can't see the holdover dots at all, it's just an overpriced green dot, that's it.

main complaint is lower illumination and short eye relief

How does this compare to a trijicon? I've always loved my acogs but have stayed true to trijicon, but the size and price is extremely attractive.

It's about 90% as good as a trijicon. What it lacks is the cross hairs in the etched reticle. So it's pretty darn good. If you're a veteran the price drops to $278 and you get a $48 bonus bucks rebate in PA's vet program. I do agree that the reticle is very small, BUT...others with better eyesight than mines have hit targets out to 3 or 400 yards. For me the 3x with the reticle makes my targets out at 15 and 25 yards a lot easier to line up. I had actually ordered an ACOG TA110 then Trijicon emailed me and told me the wait for a green crosshairs would be 22+ weeks. When I saw this on sale I thought "this is cheaper than most of my pistol red dots.." so not a bad priced experiment. Which luckily paid off. The glass is gorgeous. I don't have a new ACOG to compare but the clarity of the glass and the crispness of the reticle puts most red dots to shame. Not to mention many youtubers have tortured, broken them and still found them working and still at zeroed and or close to it... and then bought a second one to keep because they liked it. For me.. I really like my SLX 3x. bought it 2 weeks ago, zeroed it really easily (albeit with a lot of clicks). This years version has 1/4 moa adjustments... so an inch is a lotta clicks, and have put it through its paces in precision shooting and using it as a fast engagement multi target optic. It's also 1/3 the weight of my Credo at 8.5oz. It also had the benefit of being able to be used with the QD mount I had bought for my future ACOG. What also made me happy was that I was able to loan it to my friend who has bad astigmatism. For the first time ever he was able to see a beautiful crisp green reticle and use it to engage multi targets fast. The optic also comes with a ton of mount extensions if you want it higher or farther back. Right now for a light fast engagement optic good to 100 yards I am really liking it the point of holding off on my ACOG order. Really nice quality optic.
