The Tailwind Plate Carrier by 0331 Tactical is designed with speed and flexibility in mind. Designed for rapid expansion and up-armoring, the lightweight Tailwind Plate Carrier is ready for any mission.
Your Tailwind’s cummerbund has been stripped to its essence while not foregoing helpful components. Mesh substrate also allows an additional layer to wick moisture from the body and increase airflow. Plus, it also provides abrasion protection from your operating environment. A traditional shock cord rear combination system allows familiar flexibility to experienced users and also simplicity to newcomers. Meanwhile, the front attachment utilizes quick release buckles for a secure fit without compromising the wearer in a medical emergency. Plus, both interior and exterior faces of the cummerbund are capable of holding side plate, magazine, and utility pouches, no matter how you want to mount them.

Utilizing 0331 Tactical’s Hybrid Expansion system, the Tailwind Plate Carrier offers you the ability to add ID placards, chest rig/placard systems, and normal MOLLE pouches across the entirety of the front and rear plate bag exterior faces.
While many carriers attach shoulder straps to the front of the plate bag, we thought differently. That design creates an air gap between your shoulder and stock and also pushes plates harder against your body. Your Tailwind’s shoulder straps are built using laminated nylon and designed to lay flat against your body. By attaching through the rear seam of the plate bag, your Tailwind plate carrier maintains a flatter profile. Thanks to their incredibly lightweight and thin yet strong architecture, shouldering your rifle is easy. Plus, they provide color-matched tactical or camouflage patterning.
Additionally, swappable shoulder pads means you can upfit your Tailwind Plate Carrier for heavier or lighter loads, no matter your mission.
Protected stretch fabric on the plate bag wear face allows armor plates that don’t need expansion to stay taut, while a simple slit in the protective layer on the inside of the plate bag will release its expansionary capability.
