This pistol was already released as the "Hudson" years ago, and failed. DD bought the rights to it and is now recycling it. No thanks, get a $600 Canik and get real value.

He shared 3 true statements and also was not asserting it was not “beautiful” or the like. Then he shared an opinion, like yours posted above his comment.
This and the Canik aren’t really comparable other than on a few points but certainly not on value. But he is entitled to his opinion as you are yours.
Mine works just fine. I purchased through Bereli and they were true to the lead time (I had a 2-3 week lead time). The pistol is definitely different. I owe a solid number of 9mms and this one is tough to peg. I have practiced three different drills with it; FBI Qualification, Bill Wilson's 5X5 Skill Test, Dot Torture. I score very low on these drills with this pistol. This is in comparison to seven other pistols I have ran these drills with this year which is a solid pool of comparison. I have about 350 rounds through it - needs a little break-in. The trigger is the biggest issue with me - just dont like it. The recoil is sudden, but very manageable. The recoil is sharp at first but very very quick it will settle back down. At this point, 350 rounds in, it is not worth the price tag. I will reserve final judgement after many more rounds. Its probably way too premature to say that it is not worth the price tag, but at $1300, it better start showing me something soon...

watch the keyholing issue reviews on this gun , poor QC money grab so the barrel or something is defectively manufactured, its not worth even $800 even a $250 taurus will outshoot it
What reviews are you referring to? I found a YT video review from "rattlesnake defense" regarding a single specimen key-holing. Are there other reviews documenting this issue? Thanks for your reply.
A youtuber called Hollyrock Farm also noted keyholing among some other complaints. Doesn't mean they'll all have the issue, of course. The one I shot at the gun club did not seem to keyhole, but I only shot it out to 10 yds.
Thanks for your update and review. Anonymous 3rd party internet rumor is often cited as evidence by a biased commenter, so I appreciate your info. The H9 has a specific build, namely "double-stack striker optic ready alloy frame 9mm at $1100," so in fairness we should compare it to similar models. The original Hudson did have some small collector value but little else foothold with shooters, and the company failed before establishing itself. Personally I don't have any use or want for it but I haven't seen enough evidence proving it's a lemon or that a conspiracy exists. I respect the engineering, but at this price point I'm not so sure Daniel Defense can sponsor elite shooters away from their comparable alloy SIGS, Caniks, Smiths, etc., and it may not sell well to plinkers, not to mention a full-sized metal 9 with optic and light is a bit cumbersome for concealed carry, and no major department is going to issue or approve this. Ultimately I simply enjoy the variety and competition in firearms selection and hope the innovation continues. More choices are usually a good thing.
Our local gun club has one in the rental case, so I put a box of 124s through it. Cool idea, but the gun is kind of a swing and a miss in my opinion. It's two biggest selling points are that the radical design should deliver very low muzzle flip and the trigger is 1911-like making for easy accuracy. I shot it side by side with my G19 and found the G19 muzzle flip to be comparable. Also the trigger feels like a heavy GI-style 1911 trigger with an upside down Glock safety blade added to it. Definitely nothing like a quality 1911 or 2011. One positive is the gun is very thin in the slide like a 1911; basically the same width as my Shield Plus. It is a long pistol, though, and at 30oz it's heavier than a G19, M&P or most common striker fired CCW options on the market. At $1300 I just don't think it stacks up well against the competition.
