Amen, Olight is famous for their customer support and warranties. Probably because every Olight owner has had multiple interactions with the process. Like you said, great ideas...but piss poor QC leads to lots of failures in the field.
Reminds me of Nebo, we used to sell their stuff at an old job of mine. Products were neat but 10% of them (really) were DOA in the package. 25%+ came back to the store afterwards. A majority of the problems seemed like tolerance issues because if you swapped parts from two seemingly identical (failed) lights they would magically work. I still have plenty of those old 'field scrap' warranty units Nebo told us to dispose of in my personal collection. Once you find two parts that work together the lights are rock solid.
I really wish Olight would listen to customers and would improve on their designs.Olight has always had some good ideas and features but the overall product is poorly executed.for this reason,I will stick with my Streamlights but I would love to see Olight get their shit together
