Great knife for the money. I've had mine for three years now and have no complaints.
still going strong and holds an edge. it's my concealed carry and go to for breaking down cardboard boxes and exfoliating skin. smooth one handed opening and it's tacticool
Dollar for dollar it's probably the best knife I own. Very smooth action that opens so easily you'd think it was assisted opening. Nice grip, easy to sharpen. A blade you'll love, but not be afraid to use. AUS-8 stainless is good steel for this price, but don't forget the Rat 1 is also made in D2 tool steel for an extra $20. Plus that's enough for free shipping. So you might want to upgrade and not buy twice.
I have dozens of folding knives. The Ontario Rat is my EDC--excellent knife and excellent value. If you're thinking about it, buy it.

A cut above
Ontario Knife Company has a long track record of making high quality knives. You get more than you pay for. How often can you say that these days?
AUS8 steel works very well in knives, and these guys do it right (proper heat treatment/temper). I would bet Ontario D2 steel is also done correctly. More than can be said of others on the market (ask me how I know).
