I just bought one a few weeks ago in the front sight was way out of alignment. the gun was 5 feet off at 50yards. I sent it in for warranty and they said they verified function with a Vortex rds . They did absolutely nothing to fix the front sight. Verbeing out of alignment. The gun was gone for five weeks. Now I have to send it back in or I may just sell it.
Thats fucked.
BTW, which way was the sight off; windage or elevation? Not trying to sound like a dick but elevation could have just required you adjusting the rear sight's range dial. Sure you knew that but just in case. Another thought is I once had a PSA rifle that was shooting way high (if I'm remembering correctly) that was beyond the adjustment of the standard front sight post. I found out that Bushmaster sells a slightly taller front sight post for about $5 which fixed the issue.
Fair point. Comment says front sight. I would assume this means windage. If front sight is canted too much, windage dial on the rear sight can’t compensate enough.
This is a terrible deal. Nobody buy any until after I get my paycheck Friday.
I like PSA but the last assembled pistol lower I got from them had a loose buffer tube which I found to be a very blatant quality control mistake. Stuff happens, but that should have been caught by whoever assembled it. Kinda makes you wonder who they have working on these things.
I don't understand why they don't offer a true (or near true) retro A1/A2 upper with true carry handle upper.
Let buyers finish the lower and furniture to their chosen level of correctness.
Seems like Brownells is making bank with theirs.
It’s likely because most people would slap it on a lower with a carbine weight, spring, and tube and then complain about the function. Best way to nip that in the bud is to sell it complete.
Beware PSA:). They have a lot of great deals. This is only one of many. They have a great philosophy as a company. They will separate you from your money.
You may go broke dealing with PSA. Personally I have found them to be a great company to deal with.
Mine shoots really well. Just be prepared to fight with the A2 front sight if you want to remove it. I had to Dremel it off to install a free float handguard. I did shoot the original configuration for a while though and it was a lot of fun.
This is just an A4 with a detachable carry handle, this isn't a real A2.
Run don’t walk to this deal. I have it and did a quasi Canadian A4. Collapsible stock, small rail on original hand guard for a forward grip. Super cool and fun.
Picked up the upper on sale this week. Putting the same thing together with an 80% for $410. Had to do it.
Not a real A2 upper. Go to JSE surplus to get a complete A2 upper for $144...
Kind of how I feel about the “classics”. They didn’t have a removable carrying handle. That’s what I been looking for and that’s why I have bought them with the removable carrying handle. I’ll just hold out.... For those that want a non removable carrying handle you can buy the uppers from DPMS
I've got several AR15s including some that go over $1500 and this is by far one of the most accurate inexpensive bargains out there.
This is cool! Will they do more retro models like Brownell’s did?
This PSA shit has a detachable carry handle.
Go ahead and pay an extra $1000 for the non-removable carry handle. Wouldn’t want to risk it breaking off during all of your hardcore operating behind enemy lines.
I take it you never served or carried a M16A2 service rifle. Why does one need an AR period, why does one need more than a ten round clip for the hard core use behind leftists lines? Why do you care? That person is correct, its an A4.
I agree with most of what your saying. Maybe you never served either, when I served in the 70's we called them magazines not clips and they were 20 rounders Clips went out with the M1-Garand. I own several AR's because I live in a free state and can.
its ok... calm down... if you dont like it dont buy it.
By correctly pointing out it is an A4 not A2?
You were defending a gentleman who said “this PSA shit has a detachable carry handle”. No one disputed that. Nobody. I think people were more speaking to the fact that its a great deal and a pretty well reviewed gun, and its not hisingthe fact that its an A4. So take your pocket protecter somewhere else. No one gives a shit.
M4 feed ramps, flat top receiver, F-marked front sight block...this is not an A2. It's an A4-ish rifle.
