This went off track by a few light years...

i have a Cold Steel Khukri, it's pretty cheap and stamped made in South Africa. Just looking at this one, I can tell it is superior to mine. Cold Steel makes a proper khukri but that is way out of my budget or needs!

Hey son...sorry I can't have a battle of wits with you since you are obviously unarmed.

Thorax: Lol. You're laughably ignorant. A kukri doesn't stab?!? So you're telling me you're good with being stabbed by a kukri? Why don't you try it and let us know how that worked out for you. I guess you didn't even watch any of the videos I referred you to. How bout I tell you an M4 is useless beyond 40 yards? Yeah, that's the equivalent of what you said. And the rest of the "only two moves" Yeah, and by your logic shooting is only one movement: pulling a trigger. It's blatantly obvious you have no CQC hand to hand experience. But yeah, I'd pit your Fairbairn–Sykes (11.5") to my Kukri (16-18" and 2lbs) any day. Enough, I'm done fighting with an unarmed opponent in a battle of wits.

Wow man, sorry to make your butt hurt so badly.
Simple fact, a fighting knife has 2 moves, stab and slash, bend that however you want, it all breaks down to those two motions.
A kukri is pretty useless for stabbing, even if razor sharp, the tip is not aligned for it and it's too bulky.
If you're so *hep* to british fighting perhaps a sykes/fairbairn would be a better representation for you to use, it can at least handle both stab and slash.
Mall ninjas always look for some magical warrior of the past.....how does that make you feel ?

Bro, chill.. This isn't an authentic gh-ook-ra.. It's a machete. Nobody is questioning the fighting tradition of anyone. But if we were, it'd hardly be authentic at sub $20

Well, that guy insulted me with his ignorance. If he told you your EDC sucks because he didn't know how to use it you telling me you wouldn't go on a rant? I've trained for over twenty years in bladed weapons and I know what I'm talking about. Also, in my hands, even a sub $20 like this would do some effective work. If you've been to Afghanistan you'd know this about the Pakistani: their use of leaf springs make good blades that kill, and I'm willing to bet this Pakistani blade is made better than most as that region sees plenty of Kukri.

So much false in this post that I felt it required response.
Lots of difference in "cutting off a bull or waterbuffalos head in 1 stroke" to cutting off a little 80lb deers head in 3 strokes.
Sure a Kukri is a good machete type weapon, I own one (a real custom made very heavy W2 tool steel one) and it's great in the woods or garden for wacking down branches and stuff like that. As a fighting knife, not so good. It's not a quick weapon due to the size and that alone makes it, if anything, a liability in battle.

Jeez, I even did an Ignoramus Warning. Um, yeah, you're wrong (and it's not a machete, you've been ninja mall shopping for too long - Cold Steel has a budget "machete type" version, but it's not made to spec like a real kukri which is thicker and beveled) . Everything in that post is fact: I have trained kukri and with Gurkhas. You may want to check yourself, ya know, like actually knowing what you're talking about. It's a deadly weapon in even moderately trained hands. British soldiers tell stories of how fearless Gurkhas cut down gun toting opponents in battle. In your untrained hands I'm sure you think it sucks but so would the most expensive Taran Tactical in untrained hands. If you just went past the first few Google search results of the untrained yokel in the back hacking at a deer hanging (quick note, trying to hack off something hanging is harder than a standing opponent as it swings freely that's why the demo below is impressive. Don't believe me? Just try it.) I'd sure like to hear your thoughts about how ineffective a 50 BMG is by quoting a video of an untrained yokel trying to shoot from a standing position (actually I really don't want to hear your opinion but I understand: it's the Internet and Trolls abound). Check out the result when you dig just a bit deeper: my friends at Cold Steel demonstrating (actually Lynn trained with Gyi too). Oh, also, you're using it wrong if you can't cut down branches and its not the right tool for brush clearing unless you're a three-foot tall midget). The right tool for the job would be a sickle or a long handled Woodman's Pal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDsSSuFSkTY...

Before the comments get too ignorant - the kukri is the weapon of the Gurkhas, one of the most feared fighting forces in the world. Wikipedia: "The Gurkhas are soldiers from Nepal who are recruited into the British Army and have been for the last 200 years. Gurkhas are known to be as fearless in combat as they are good-natured in daily life. To this day, they remain renowned for their loyalty, professionalism, and bravery." The Gurkhas fought off Genghis Khan's Mongolian hordes at 50:1 odds and alongside Allied forces in WWII. More recently a single Gurkha soldier single-handedly fought off forty bandits. Not convinced yet? Google "kukri chopping off head" and watch a man single-handedly (literally using a one-handed grip) cut off bull or water buffalo head in one stroke. Experienced martial artists favor the unique angle for its way to reach past defensive actions and forward weight as it cleans cuts off limbs.
