Your article, it is very informative and indeed I really agree on what you have discussed here. I gained so much information about guns in this site and also it gives us new insight about the topic. Thank you.

All the BS aside for "survival" seeds, but isn't this a good price on that many seeds? Last time I checked, a little packet at Walmart was $1 or something for one pack. I have no interest in buying some, but for someone who knows very very little about farming, this seems like a good "deal".

Yes this is a good price for ANYONE who wants to buy seeds.

Remember, at Poverty-Mart (or home centers, etc) the quantity of seeds you get depends on the plant species. Some varieties of vegetables only have a dozen or so seeds per package. This deal is structured similarly, but at $29, you would be doing better on price with these.

Plus, I'm not so sure all home center seeds are heirloom. We're careful with species segregation when we dry our seeds, but we couldn't get the seeds from the plants that grew from the Home Depot seeds to re-grow the next year.

As someone else stated below, the best source of Ag info is the Agricultural Extension Agent from your nearby University. For us, it is New Mexico State which is very far from Albuquerque, but they have a guy in each county as a point of contact:

LOL, that "They laughed when" line is the oldest in the advertising business. Here's the original ad from 1926.

I laugh at the idiots that buy a couple dollars worth of seed and stick it in their frig for the shtf.

If you bought this product, rest assured you are one of the the sheep that's getting slaughtered if anything like you are imagining happens.

But this is your lot in life, to be fleeced by those more intelligent than you. Take out your wallet and baahh your seeds folks.

I think laying in some decent seeds (maybe not this kit specifically) is a good idea for a SHTF stockpile........or did you mean the idiots are the ones that buy ONLY seeds and have nothing else stocked up? They'd get mighty hungry waiting for their dinner to grow.

Ugh auto subscribe.

Nah I just mean the people that don't grow stuff normally that just blow their money thinking if anything gets bad they'll whip out this can and be alright.

Anyone that grows things normally already has a seed stash, and likely are growing acclimated stock.

The whole idea of survival seeds is just ridiculous.

Nothing but respect for the seller though, if he doesn't fleece these people someone else will. May as well be him right?

Exactly. Same goes for the zombie crowd and the tactical .22lr crowd or anyone who thinks they're prepping by buying overpriced food, ammo or anything else that comes pre-packaged in a sealed bag. Mil-surp is one thing. Marketing schemes aimed for morons is another.

The same bunch of shit dicks that bought survival kits and built shelters "prepping" for Y2K... Remember that bunch'a fucking dolts? They've passed the torch to the newest generation of NRA members, our brightest, youngest patriots who will ultimately save civilization with their arsenal of Chinese optics and precision/tactical .22lr they bought with "free in store pick up"

It's a gun site so I'll just assume you're just ignorant about gardening. The point of these seeds as opposed to seeds you get at the store is that heirloom seeds can be planted from the seeds of the produce you harvest, therefore you will never need new seeds. Seed varieties you buy in the store are hybrids and you cannot use seeds from last years crops to plant this year's garden.
So yes, smartass, these are in fact "survival seeds" for those who really plan to survive beyond the length of time their ammo lasts if we ever do encounter a SHTF scenario. They're also pretty cool for gardening right now, incidentally.
Keep eating GMO's dude, your brain is already mush.

That's actually not true at all. Hybrids produce seeds that are useable as well, it's just the strain is uncertain. Also, if you plant, say, two different kinds of tomatos and collect the seeds from them, you run the risk of cross pollination and thus creating hybrids. As for your anti-GMO statements, I'd suggest you try to inform yourself from websites other than MONSANTOWANTSTOKILLUSALLANDISSATAN.com. Also there's no guarentee that these are the best varieties for your area. The best way to get into gardening (even in planning for a SHTF scenario) is to consult your state agriculture board (here in SC it's run through Clemson for example) which gives advice to farmers and has TONS of information regarding how to plant, what to plant, when to plant, etc.

OK, I could have gone into more detail, as you've stated. Yes you will need to isolate your heirloom strains to prevent cross pollination. Some hybrids will produce viable seeds, with uncertain strains, some will not. Some will do fine the next generation, but destabilize in a couple generations, some will stabilize. Sometimes that may mean something like you get a very healthy carrot plant that produces tiny little carrots, which is somewhat useless even though you can technically keep re-seeding from your hybrid stock. Hybrids are not one single result, so no over-riding statement covers it all. My apologies. But my point still stands. This is a single one solution for everyone package, not a specialized by region master gardener's mix. Not to mention $27 for this many seeds is just a good deal when compared to the price of seeds at the local garden center seed rack.
This is still a gun site and I don't want to get into a protracted discussion of genetics and absolute best gardening practices.

Get your butt out of the armchair Rambo. Your regurgitating info you just read is apparent. Enjoy your seeds. Please remember me laughing at you when you try to get a meal or of them. If bet you will get more net calories if you just put the seeds in your mouth and chew and don't try anything beyond that.
