I wish they made this integrally suppressed with a vented barrel to make everything sub sonic. Keep it under $1,500 without stamp and you got me.

Great deal, though I’m a believer that PCCs with over 10” barrels are useless unless used in competitions.

How exactly are they useless?

I guess “useless” probably is too strong of a word choice. I mean that there are better alternatives that are more effective. If you’re going to run a carbine-length barrel (hence the “pistol caliber CARBINE” in PCC), you might as well run an actual rifle caliber with proper high pressure and more effective ballistics.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we consumers have choices, and more power to you if you make the purchase. If I’m running a barrel over 10” in anything that will see serious use, it’s not going to be anything in a pistol caliber. Likewise, I won’t run any rifle calibers (even 300 blackout) in weapon systems that see serious use in less than a 10” barrel.

Keep in mind, that’s for “serious use.” Competition and range toys are excluded from this point.

But that’s me, and that’s my own opinion. You do you, Friend. You have the right to purchase what you want.

I've been putting my old Ruger .44 MAG carbine (commonly known as the Ruger Model 44) to the “serious use" of hunting for years. I've been very successful at putting meat on my supper table with it over the years. It has been very useful for my family and I.

Ahh, a man with panache, or at least hunting style! That 44 carbine is a beaut...you done good. I agree, cartridge and bullet selection matters. The number of deer taken with "pistol caliber" lever guns is astounding. The excellent 44mag and 357mag are particularly well-suited to longer tubes. The 9mm not so much.

My intention was directed toward 9mm and .40 cal PCCs. That said, 357 Mag and 44 Mag are both highly effective pistol cartridges, and I concede to your collective point that they are also even more effective out of carbines. They are also a decent solution for hunting in straight-wall-requiring States (like my home State of Michigan).

I would still rather have a “true” rifle cartridge in anything over 10” barrel length to maximize the effectiveness of the weapon. If I’m looking at 357 Mag, I’d rather use 350 Legend in a 10”+ barrel. If I’m looking at 44 Mag, I’d rather use 450 Bushmaster or 458 SOCOM in a 10”+ barrel. They are superior cartridges for longer barrels.

I never said PCCs weren’t effective. A 22LR pocket pistol can be effective with proper shot placement, and I wouldn’t want to be shot by one. I’m only speaking to comparable effectiveness. If this, then that. And these points are only my opinion about guidelines I’ve decided to follow.

If they’re right for you, more power to you, and I hope it’s a fun, useful, and reliable firearm if you buy one.

Eh, perhaps my reading comprehension needs improvement, but this sounds like political back-pedaling. You simply said "PCCs with over 10” barrels are useless unless used in competitions." That is silly. Useless for you, but that is your opinion, and you should have left it at that. Then you said PCC's for "serious use," whatever that is. Now you say a PCC can be useless and effective, and "speaking of comparable effectiveness." Comparing rifle calibers to pistol calibers doesn't help the argument. 16" 9mm's may be the best choice for someone. Someone else may want cartridge compatibility, and choose a 357 revolver and carbine duet. Legends and Socoms can't do that. And we haven't even mentioned different platforms such as semis, levers, and pumps, nostalgia, collectability, legality, cartridge availability, cartridge specificity, etc.
