A comparison to generic revolvers isn't really a comparison. These fire off the bottom to help with recoil for one thing so extra engineering went into them Anything with style is going to be more expensive. Even a governor is around $900. Not too mention colt pythons being around $1200

Several comments here suggesting DB is preferable over RDB, but I've also watched reviews suggesting that RDB yields better (less) recoil impulse. Maybe the idea is just that RDB isn't worth the higher price, but if anyone wants to explain why DB is or can be superior to an audience of one (I know this is an old thread), I'm listening.
