IMR 3031 is a propellant with many uses, and has long been a favorite of 308 Match shooters using 168-grain match bullets. It is equally effective in small-capacity varmint cartridges from 223 Remington to 22-250 Remington, and it’s a great 30-30 Winchester powder.

Go to Cabelas add some 8lbs cans to your cart and see what the total is? I bet you can mix and match never heard of charging extra hazmat within limit.
Will the ATF's reclassification of gun powder as high explosive make this cost more in the near future?
Or ammo for that matter
that's why you buy in bulk to off set the hazmat, they have a sale on Winchester primers $5-$8 less a box than what I can find at local stores and gunshows. so I call some of my friends that reload and order more to offset the cost with 10 boxes I still save $3-$5 a box. Not to mention the some of the powders on sale are cheaper than what I can find locally too, not all, but some of what they have is cheaper. they several brands of powder for sale not just IMR. Use your brains people buy bulk to offset cost derka derka.... call your friends to help order or if you don't have friends buy extra and sell it for what you bought for or try and make a couple bucks. some of the powders I could yike the price up a couple of bucks and still sell it cheaper than the local dealers and gunshow prices.
good price before hazmat, there has always been an 8lb can of 3031 in dads powder magazine, as long as I've been alive. it is one of the most universal powders you can buy. there are better powders out there for each rifle/cal but not many that will load most if not all of em.
too bad cabelas doesn't offer a bulk hazmat deal, like they pay it and shipping if you buy 16lb or 24lb even at the 64lb max could work if you could mix n match
