Picked up my my upper & lowers over the weekend and let me tell ya I could not be happier. I had heard the finish was off a shade but on the 3 I got the difference was so slight you had to really concentrate on it to see a difference.

Yes sir it is that upper. I ordered 3 sets and was a bit concerned on what the fit & finish would be like. I went to my ffl on Sat to pick up and I was more than satisfied with the fit and finish! These things are an absolute bargain. Super happy I ordered them.

I agree. I just ordered 3 sets. - notice that stripped upper is a billet upper not a mil-spec. I bought 3 of these lowers on a blem sale. I think they paid $60 each and it was well worth it. These are great lowers with all the billet lower features (tension + bolt catch threaded screws/pins).

Jump on this order a few you won't regret it if you build ARs for fun.

Have you received yours yet? I was wondering about finish are the upper and lower the same color and does the upper have the milled out areas or is it a regular upper?

Hi Superwoody,

I did receive my 3 sets. I can confirm the upper is billet! BUT the color is off between lower and upper. - Still a very good deal for the money. I would have paid the same amount for an upper. I have now bought 7 of these 17 designs lowers and I must salute my neighbors to the north in Oklahoma for these great value lowers. Fully featured with upper tension screw and set screw for the bolt catch for a cheap mil-spec lower price.

If you paint your ARs or willing to do a back yard cerakote job this is still a great buy even with the off-color upper.

Yeah I got one of my 3 today, I can live with the slight color difference actually. Some of the earlier billet lowers from 17 was almost a purple color but these are very close to black. Also, the one I got today the threads on the upper must be very close to upper tolerances, I have a Aero handguard nut that will screw on but it's snug and I have a AR Stoner handguard that matches their billet uppers and it wouldn't even start onto the 17 designs upper. The barrel nut fit on 3 other uppers I had laying around just fine, I even ran a 1 1/4-18 tap into the barrel nut just to make sure it was good and it still wouldn't start on the 17 upper.

All that to say be careful what handguard you chose, in my case an Aero and a cheap Aim Surplus barrel nut worked but the generic AR-STONER V2 Free Float M-Lok Handguard barrel nut won't.

You guys are awesome!!! I would but you guys are so fast on the ball you shipped it already! Shame on you for fulfilling my order so quickly! LoL Not use to it nowadays you order something and it takes a week or two for the company to fulfill it, or 2 months if your ordering from Polymer 80! Not kidding. I am still going to order another set today just trying to decide on wether to order 1 or 2 more. Thinking gonna order 2 more I can always sell or trade one if needed.
