Wanted to buy this,then I remembered I already have a 5906.
The S&W 39/59 series guns are based on the FN/Browning Hi-Power, which has been manufactured by a lot of countries. That said, I would prefer a S&W if only because it comes in stainless but that's personal preference.
The Daewoo K5, which is the standard issue sidearm of the South Korean defense forces, is based on the S&W 39/59 series of pistols. The Korean Ministry of Defense and Daewoo Precision Industries designed and tested the K5 over the course of four years starting in around 1985. It’s a combat-proven sidearm currently being carried by South Korean soldiers in places such as Afghanistan, Somalia and Lebanon.
Absolutely the worst gun I have ever bought. Took it to the range once and it has not left my safe since.
Not sure I understand why anyone would want one of these when there seems to be so many far more superior and advanced pistols available? Perhaps someone can clue me in on the appeal here? It it the metal frame or what?
