I ordered a couple last week and both had the star forge markings. That's not always the case, and they were in pretty nice condition. Hard to beat for the price

I have one with a scratch that is through the finish. Still worth the money for me since I use my guns.

This is not a sale price. If you don't need an upper asap, just wait for the price to drop back down to $49.95. I've bought 4 of of these BCM demo uppers, no noticeable blemish. If you think about it, after assembling your AR15, it immediately becomes "used", and after a few trips to the range, it definitely can be considered blemish. I think selling " demo or blemish" parts is just a way for vendors to get rid of excess inventory and raise cash without devaluing the normal price (MSRP).

Thing is, the price IS currently $49. The gun.deals listing is bugged or something.
To add to your point though, these sometimes drop to $39.

These are very high quality, just be aware the barrel extension has to be fit by thermal expansion, it will not fit the receiver without heat applied.
