This very well may be garbage, but reviews of this one seem good and Agency Arms is using it for their base gun, and I doubt they would do that if it was garbage. I can remember when everyone said the same about Canikk, SAR and Girsan also, but they aren't, so Turkey is obviously plenty capable of putting out quality. I would think sooner or later they will get the shotguns right.

The difference is SAR is a state-owned defense contractor supplying .mil and .leo contracts. Canik and Girsan are owned by conglomerates and makes their product in ISO9001 facility. These "Turknellis" are produced by someone in their garage and labeled with 100 different brand names that come and goes within 6 months to 1 year.

There is nothing stopping Agency Arms from paying more for higher spec and better QC in the guns they receive because they can afford to. The other Turknelli "brands" probably get the rejected or low quality version.

It's just such a gamble it's not worth it IMO. Get a Stoeger M3000 or step up to Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol.

There is nothing to "get right": either you pay the manufacturer enough to get a high quality product or you don't, where it's produced isn't the issue.

Supposedly MAC has the higher specs, they claim they didn't just take what Turkey was offering like everyone else, instead had them built to their specs. I get what you are saying, the Beretta 1301 and A300 are my HD shotguns of choice, but 99% of the people buying a HD shotgun won't put enough rounds through it to ever break it regardless of where it is made. One of the most reliable shotguns I own is a gen1 Saiga12 that everyone said was junk when they came out, but I shaved the bolt, polished, addressed the gas ports and well over a thousand rounds later is still going strong. You never know where the next diamond in the ruff lies.

Whether or not this Turknelli is "worth it" is entirely dependent on use case. I can most certainly understand not wanting to drop $2k on an M4 if you're just screwing around at the range and never using it for anything serious, if that's the case, then yes, a cheap clone will suit you just fine.

I have an M3000. Because I usually just screw around at the range with it. It's been great to me, but it really won't matter too much if it decides not to be.

Anything involving competition, defense, professional use, etc, then yes, it is a smarter move to at the very least step up to the A300. You don't need to spend $1,500+, but $300 on a roll of the dice with a clone isn't a good idea.
