This is another masterpiece from the S&W Classic revolver line. Introduced in 1959 and chambered in .22 WMR, this powerful rimfire handgun stays popular for decades. It’s built on a medium-size K-frame, the frame that is made for the 38 S&W Special cartridges and has been favored by military or police forces but also target shooters or any gun enthusiasts. There are two 48 models, one with a 4-inch barrel, and the other one with 6-inch. Both have Magna-style checkered wooden grips, and a carbon steel cylinder, barrel, and frame, with blued frame finish. This is an external-hammered, single/double-action revolver with an overall length of 9.3 or 11.3 inches (depending on the barrel length), with a pinned Patridge-type front sight, and a micro-adjustable rear sight. The gun is very accurate and reliable, but also quite loud for inexperienced ears.
