The Smith & Wesson Model 637 is built on a J-frame, ideal for concealed carry. An original 637 model has a 1.875-inch barrel, while the newer version features 2.5 inches barrel that allows a full-length ejector rod. It’s a perfect solution between the common 2-inch and 3-inch barrel lengths along with both their benefits. This is a lightweight double-action revolver with an aluminum alloy frame and a stainless-steel cylinder with the capacity of 5 rounds, chambered in 38 Special and 38 Special +P calibers. The finish on aluminum and steel parts is matte-stainless, providing exceptional durability. Model 637 has standard J-frame sights that include a notched ramp in front, and a square cut in the back. It also features a typlical, exposed hammer and a wide, smooth trigger. The most important advantage of the extended barrel length is better accuracy and control of the gun while shooting, although the shooters will experience a decent amount of recoil, so it’s recommended to hold the gun with both hands.
