This is another powerful single/double action Smith & Wesson revolver built on the L-frame platform intended for Magnum usage. It shoots .44 Magnum cartridges, and .44 Special as well, with a 5-round-capacity stainless-steel cylinder. It has front red ramp sight and rear adjustable white outline sight. A stainless steel 2-piece barrel is 4.25 inches long. This model also comes with a full top strap and barrel serration features. In terms of safety, there is a ball-detent lock-up device. There is also a newer version available – Model 69 Combat Magnum – which is a bit smaller with a 2.75-inch barrel, a little bit lighter, and with a full-length extractor rod, chambered in 44. Magnum only. Overall, this is a classic revolver, with a great tradition, and one of the favorite firearms of law enforcement, but also suitable for any experienced gun lover.
