According to the manufacturer, the Winchester XPC is a "full-house precision chassis rifle," and at first look, it most definitely falls within that description. It offers a good compromise between a precision target rifle and a long-range tactical weapon and is based on the company's current XPR action. Its chrome-moly, button-rifled barrel is threaded from the factory with standard 5/8x24 TPI at the muzzle and has Winchester's "Permacote" matte-black finish. To guarantee smooth operation, the bolt head and fluted body are machined from a single piece of steel and are nickel-Teflon coated. The Sako-style extractor on the Winchester XPC rifle effectively controls extraction by ejecting through an enlarged ejection/loading port with a spring-loaded, recessed plunger. The bolt release is placed into the left side of the receiver, which is tactically familiar, at the stock line. A two-position safety that locks the bolt when engaged is included. For this rifle, Winchester chose an AR-compatible buttstock and grip, providing users with limitless customization options for the Winchester XPC.
